Important suggestion to travelling Passengers
If you are new in the Faisalabad city area, make sure you inquire beforehand with
the cab driver to get an approximation of the fare. There are countless documented
stories from frustrated travelers worldwide who have been 'taken for a ride' by
an unscrupulous taxi driver out to make a few extra bucks. Also, ask about traffic
at the time you get your taxi, and ask him if he/she knows the alternative routes.
Carry a map to your destination - many taxi operators surprisingly are not native
to the area and may not know all the short-cuts. You might also want to ask what
the airport pick-up surcharge is. This way, your taxi ride to your destination will
be stress free.
If arriving into an airport you are not familiar with, the best bet is to first
go to the CAA information desk / Facilitation Counter placed at International /
Domestic departure concourse area FIAP and inquire about transportation services.
If you are taking the Cab from your Hotel Complimentary Service, then you can also
call your hotel in advance and ask them how much you should expect to have to pay
the cab if applicable.
Public Transportation to & From Airport
Public transportation is the most economical way into and out of the Faisalabad
International Airport, as for other part of world, but depending on the mode (bus
vs train) and the time of day it can either be the slowest way to get to the airport
or the fastest. Public buses are cheap, but make frequent stops and may require
connections. Be prepared for a longer trip in times of rush hours if taking a bus.
There are so many bus routes are available that passes though the Airport Chowk
almost from all the length & breath of the Faisalabad City. The link / access road
of Faisalabad International Airport connect the Main Jhang Road to the airport.
Also note that during off-peak hours and holidays, certain options may either not
be available or may be running a reduced frequency. Make sure you have prepared
accordingly beforehand to save yourself any undue frustration.
